My Personal [Hide or Die] Decal

The digital version of an old piece from last year that I posted last month. It's missing the mushroom and flower accents, because I'm using this as a decal design for a game I backed on Kickstarter. So it needed to be a lot cleaner and simpler. I'm glad for how it turned out. Hope it's simple enough 😂. It doesn't have that blue background either, but transparency just turns black here on Instagram so...

Failed Anniversary Gift

This was supposed to be more cute-morbid than straight up brutal like this, and it's not even done, because omfg xD;  I was having a really bad episode the week I was attempting to get ahead on this, so I guess it just showed through on that.  Either way, I figured I should post it anyway, for reasons?  I still rather like it, even though it's definitely not what I'd intended.  And I guess it's good to get this stuff vented in a kind of productive way...

Courtship - and Other Naali & Harakka Pieces

Forgot to post this here woops.  Look at flirty, handsome Harakka showing off his beautiful feathers/wings to the horned fox lady. x3  This took a fuckton of time to do, mostly because I was trying to fight my urge to rush everything in one go.  I came out great, but damn...mostly the trees were slow to come out. xD  One day I'll learn to put leaves on them! lol

Really trying to work on my settings...too many empty backgrounds.  If I ever hope to do some quality illustrations of these two, I gotta fix that...and find some more creativity for the stories.  Got a few brewing up soon, though...I might end up writing small things for them first to really get an image in my mind's eye.

The second one, "Sienestäjät" is newest, but I haven't felt like digging the scanner out of the pit right now, so I just snapped a shitty photo with my tablet. :P  Probably see it in another post down the line of the proper scan, woop.







And then a random affection sketch of Naali and Harakka.  Most of a random, spontaneous little thing to practice them more.  Harakka can be pretty challenging sometimes, because of how dark everything is...so it just tends to blend all the finer details I want.  Gonna have to work on that.

WiP - Courtship

This took forever to form itself, but once it did I was pleased with it.  I've been very slow on working on this, pacing myself over a few days, because I'm attempting not to rush myself so much.  I'm really excited to finish it though.  It's turning out really beautiful.

Originally, the idea was Naali in her wedding dress with a fully-magpie Harakka, but a comment from my own bae revealed its true nature; a courtship moment, rather than betrothal. :P  Changing the clothes really brought it together for me.  Technically, they are already finished, but the background is growing super extensively.  There's sooooo many trees now. XD

PS. sorry for the shitty tablet quality photos, I didn't think to get proper process pictures.  I only just now realized I could make an entry on it.  Woops.

Telle's Arctic Fox Sketch Commission

The magpie's mother needed an arctic fox image for her article. :P  So she commissioned me to do a quick sketch for her.  It's very nighttime over there right now, so I'm still waiting on her to green light it, but I think it looks pretty nice as is.  I hope it's up to snuff <3

Delayed Sketchbook Pieces

Excuse the long disappearance, I made another journey to Finland to see my lovely magpie~  I missed my drawing tablet and my scanner so much. xD  Had many moments of getting the itch to sketch and only had my sketchbook.  Some ideas just aren't for traditional medium though...I'm sure we'll see some of those belated ideas in the rest of the month or so.

However, I do have a few finished pieces from my sketchbook that I'm relatively proud of. :>

Throwback - Lisica / Naali

At the time of creation, this was known as Lisica.  It was a bit after adopting the handle.  She's the very beginning of the vulpes ramus idea, and something like an avatar for myself, I guess.  Just an emaciated, ragged arctic vixen...

I have a Valentine's idea that involves this, which is why I ended up digging it up. You'll be seeing a bit more of her pretty soon~  I've decided that since I am Lisica, this will be Naali.

The Birthday Magpie

It's been a very long while since I've taken out the coloured pencils, so I'm sorry it's not terribly good :I  Part of me almost thinks it should've stayed black and white, buuuuut I wanted it to be special so!  Here it is!

I'm at least super pleased with the magpie :P  Naturally, I'd fuck up the fox though lol

Inked - Filofax Dashboard

Took a bit of willpower to get me there, but here's the finished physical piece!  I'm super fucking proud of it.  I'm pushing myself outside of my comfort zones by pursuing mediums I usually avoid, like lining anything with an actual pen, lol.  Also put that grey mildliner to work. ;)

I'm going to scan it eventually, and put it through some proper line-work in photoshop.  Then I'll figure out how to get it printed to some cardstock, maybe laminate it.  Just need it to divide properly as a binder insert, you know?  Not sure what I'm going to do with all the empty space too, hmmm...

WiP - Season of Orphans

I beat Seasons After Fall a few hours ago and it gave me super inspiration for a subject I briefly touched on with Erpa last night. :P  So, this happened.  I'll most likely use this to piece together my mythical Vulpes Ramus, but for now it's just a normal baby fox.  Maybe orphaned and left only with birb guardians, aww...

Self Portrait - Vulpes Ramus

For the size and complexity of this, it took me entirely too long to do pft.  Not counting the fact that I just took the head off of an old drawing I did for someone I'm no longer friends with, lol.

I'm in the process of inventing my own fox species because I keep drawing foxes/fox skulls with antlers, so I might as well stop half-assing it and get to work.  Name is a slight work in progress as I haven't gotten to properly make it, but for now... probably gonna end up with a humanoid version (like this) just to satisfy myself tbh.

Me as I often see myself in my head (when I'm not the drippy-eyed smiley-faced messy sketch).
