Courtship - and Other Naali & Harakka Pieces

Forgot to post this here woops.  Look at flirty, handsome Harakka showing off his beautiful feathers/wings to the horned fox lady. x3  This took a fuckton of time to do, mostly because I was trying to fight my urge to rush everything in one go.  I came out great, but damn...mostly the trees were slow to come out. xD  One day I'll learn to put leaves on them! lol

Really trying to work on my settings...too many empty backgrounds.  If I ever hope to do some quality illustrations of these two, I gotta fix that...and find some more creativity for the stories.  Got a few brewing up soon, though...I might end up writing small things for them first to really get an image in my mind's eye.

The second one, "Sienestäjät" is newest, but I haven't felt like digging the scanner out of the pit right now, so I just snapped a shitty photo with my tablet. :P  Probably see it in another post down the line of the proper scan, woop.







And then a random affection sketch of Naali and Harakka.  Most of a random, spontaneous little thing to practice them more.  Harakka can be pretty challenging sometimes, because of how dark everything is...so it just tends to blend all the finer details I want.  Gonna have to work on that.

Delayed Sketchbook Pieces

Excuse the long disappearance, I made another journey to Finland to see my lovely magpie~  I missed my drawing tablet and my scanner so much. xD  Had many moments of getting the itch to sketch and only had my sketchbook.  Some ideas just aren't for traditional medium though...I'm sure we'll see some of those belated ideas in the rest of the month or so.

However, I do have a few finished pieces from my sketchbook that I'm relatively proud of. :>

The Birthday Magpie

It's been a very long while since I've taken out the coloured pencils, so I'm sorry it's not terribly good :I  Part of me almost thinks it should've stayed black and white, buuuuut I wanted it to be special so!  Here it is!

I'm at least super pleased with the magpie :P  Naturally, I'd fuck up the fox though lol

Inked - Filofax Dashboard

Took a bit of willpower to get me there, but here's the finished physical piece!  I'm super fucking proud of it.  I'm pushing myself outside of my comfort zones by pursuing mediums I usually avoid, like lining anything with an actual pen, lol.  Also put that grey mildliner to work. ;)

I'm going to scan it eventually, and put it through some proper line-work in photoshop.  Then I'll figure out how to get it printed to some cardstock, maybe laminate it.  Just need it to divide properly as a binder insert, you know?  Not sure what I'm going to do with all the empty space too, hmmm...

September Journal Calendar

I'm pretty pleased with how these pages look by the end of the month. :>  Let's hope I can keep this up.  Some of these are honestly kind of hard to do.  I have many days at a time where I just haven't done anything of note due to work or I've done the same things as another day.  Gotta get creative in those cases, clearly.

WiP - Skull Design

I draw this shit entirely too much, I know, but this one's a bit of a practice for my new bullet journal I'll be starting in January.  I can't seem to settle on any pre-made designs as far as dividers and dashboards go, so fuck it, I'm making my own!  This one is either going to be my core BUJO section divider or my BoS section.  Not quite sure yet and it depends on another design I'm slowly piecing together in photoshop.
